Dock Ringo

February 27, 1930 — June 16, 2007

Dock Ringo, 77, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2007 in Mineral Wells. Funeral: 1:00 p.m., Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Mineral Wells. Burial: New Gordon Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at White's Funeral Home in Mineral Wells. Dock Ringo was born in Palo Pinto County the son of Albert and Imogene Wood Ringo. He was a long-time resident of Mineral Wells. First and foremost, Dock was a devoted family man and a self-made entrepreneur. He was an avid sportsman, horseman, private pilot and world traveler. Dock was a local civic and community leader. He served on the PPGH hospital board. As chairman of the Chamber of Commerce building committee, he built the Mineral Wells Chamber of Commerce building on W. Hubbard. Dock was involved in many local, state and national associations. He served two terms as President of Amusement and Music Operators of Texas and one term as National President of the Amusement and Music Operators Association. Kindly, soft spoken Dock Ringo was the walking definition of "sincere." Dock could approach even the most controversial subject in such a quiet, soothing way, so that people didn't get excited or riled up. However, make no mistake; Dock's disarming manner came with a sharp, energetic mind. Dock loved nothing more than being surrounded by all of his family. He loved dearly and was dearly loved. He will be greatly missed. Dock was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Jeffery. Survivors: Spouse, Betty Ringo of Mineral Wells; sons, Danny Ringo and wife, Sandra of Lucas, Joe Ringo and wife, Liz, Richard Ringo and wife, Rita, Bryan Ringo and wife, Kathy, all of Mineral Wells; daughters, Tammy Henry and husband, Thomas of Brownwood, Amy Ringo Lane and husband, Kevin of Mineral Wells; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
