Christopher "Chris" Gates, 24, went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 14, 2007 in Wise County. Funeral: 10:00 a.m., Tuesday at West Parkway Baptist Church, 836 NW Parkway, Azle. Burial: Springtown Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at White's Springtown Funeral Home. Chris was born in Arlington, the son of Jack and Deborah Henry Gates, Sr. He graduated from Athens High School. Chris was employed by Swanson Oil Field Service. He was a faithful and loving husband and father. Chris was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Spence Kent Gates and Johnny Rocket Henry; and grandmother, Ina Mae Henry. Survivors: wife, Jessie Gates; son, Christian Lee Gates; father, Jack Gates, Sr. and wife, Mary of Gunbarrel City; mother, Deborah Nolte and husband, Johnny of Springtown; sister, Misti Hoadley of Palestine; brothers, Jack Gates, Jr of Denver Colo., Daniel Gates of Houston; James Nolte of Ft. Worth, John Nolte of Ft. Worth; grandmother, Rosa Lee Gates of Gunbarrel City; and grandparents, John and Vera White of Springtown.
