Bennie Allen Combs, 63, a loving husband and father passed away at his Weatherford home on Wednesday, June 13, 2007.Bennie Allen Combs was born January 12, 1944 in Couch, MO, son of the late Floyd Earl and Amanda Combs. A certified optician of Texas and local business owner, Ben Combs' name was synonymous with the eyeglass industry in Parker County and surrounding areas. Ben served his community as former director of the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce and past president of the Weatherford College Basketball Booster Club. One of his greatest passions was basketball and watching his daughters and grandson play sports. He attended Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Helen Bray and Madge Roach.Ben is survived by his wife, Vickie; daughters, Tammy Bruce and husband, Ron, Amanda Combs, Benna Combs, and Candice Combs, all of Weatherford; grandson, J.D. Bruce of Weatherford; sister, Pat Wynn and husband, Jinks of MO; brothers and spouses, Glen and Elaine Combs of OK, Cliff and Vertilee Combs of Granbury, Harris and Mary Combs of OK, Bill and Darlene Combs of Trinidad, TX, and Truman and Linda Combs of MO.Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday, June 18, 2007 at Lakeshore Drive Baptist Church, 200 S. Lakeshore Drive, Hudson Oaks. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens of the Valley Memorial Park, 5600 Mineral Wells Highway, Weatherford. The family will receive guests 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at White's Funeral Home in Weatherford.
