Ray Coker, 85, passed away Friday, February 16, 2007 in Azle. Funeral: 2 p.m., Monday at White's Funeral Home. Burial: Azleland Cem. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home. Ray Coker was born March 21, 1921 in Powderly to John and Ollie Mae Woodby Coker. He was a long time resident of Springtown. His wife and family were the love of his life. Ray loved country music and was an avid fiddle player. His bands played in and around the area for over 20 years. Ray was instrumental in fundraising events for the Springtown Senior Center and many other benefits for the Springtown area. He served his country honorably during WW II. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 55 years, Lorene; four brothers, and two sisters. Survivors: Son, Chuck Coker and wife, Lisa of Springtown; daughter, Linda Petrikovic and husband, Joe of Springtown; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; special friend, Angie; many loving nieces and nephews; and a multitude of friends.
