Kaye J. "Katherine" Kennedy, 84, a retired teacher, died Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Monday in Ash Creek Cemetery, Azle. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at White's Azle Funeral Home. Memorials: Scottish Rite Children's Hospital or Shrine Crippled Children's Hospital in care of the Moslah Shrine, Fort Worth. Kaye was born July 23, 1921, near Edmond, Okla. She married the love of her life, Cloys E. Kennedy, on Nov. 7, 1949, in Lovington, N.M. Kay earned a B.S. from Sul Ross State College and a master's from North Texas State University. She retired from Fort Worth ISD and had taught in Azle. Cloys and Kay served as worthy patron and worthy matron of the Azle Chapter of the Order of Eastern Star. She had an interest in family genealogy and loved traveling. After retirement, she traveled throughout the world playing golf through the Senior Sports Association, including the Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland. Cloys, her parents and son, William T., preceded her in death. Survivors: Brother, Rolland Jones of Littleton, Colo.; sisters, Pauline Auten of Duncan, Okla., and Vera Elio of Las Vegas, Nev.; cousin, Jimmy McKenzie of Hurst; and many nieces and nephews.
