LaVerne Hunn Glover, 76, passed away, Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at a Weatherford care center.
LaVerne was born in Pilot Point to Leland and Edith Hunn.
She was preceded in death by her husband, W.J. She retired from the railroad after over 40 years of service starting with the Texas and Pacific, Missouri Pacific, and finally Union Pacific. At age 15, she began operating and managing many depots across Texas including Weatherford and Aledo. She was a graduate of the University of North Texas.
She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren at various events, including band, baseball, or whatever activity they were involved in.
LaVerne was a founding member of Community Christian Church and was very proud of the church.
Survivors include sons, Joe Glover and wife, Paula, Andy Glover and wife, Donna; grandchildren, Jennifer, Waylon, Luke and Hannah; sister, LoVeta Berger; sister-in-law, Merle Bennett; and many friends.
Funeral services are scheduled 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Community Christian Church, 2 Dean Road, Aledo.
Burial will follow in the Aledo Brown Cemetery, Aledo.
The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at White's Funeral Home, Weatherford.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Christian Church, the American Cancer Society, or a favorite local charity.
