Ernest D. Hedge, 66, a retired Master Sgt. USAF, died Friday, November 14, 2003 at his home just one day shy of his 67th birthday.
Funeral: 11:00 AM, Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2003 at Lighthouse Harbor Church.
Burial: Ashcreek Cemetery.
Visitation: 7-9:00 PM Monday evening at White's Azle Funeral Home.
Ernest D. Hedge was born November 15, 1936 in Mt. Carmel, IL to Henry Luther and Beatrice Imogene Hedge. He served in the US Air Force for 20 years, during this time he served two tours of duty in the Vietnam war. Ernest was awarded the Bronze Star for Valor. He was a 32nd Degree Mason.
"Ernie" was an avid song writer with one of his songs being sung by John Shepard at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Robert Paul Jones and Roger Allen Hedge.
Survivors: wife, Jo Ella Rankin Hedge; son, Ernest D. Hedge, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Greenbay, WI; step-children, Jack Taylor and wife, Jill of Granbury, Shawna Taylor of Ft. Worth, Carole Lanier and husband, Jay of Azle, Lisa Leal and husband, Eleno of Springtown; 3 grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren.
