Samuel Thomas Koontz, 80, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2003 in Springtown.Graveside Services: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 27 at Veal Station Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Tuesday at White's Funeral Home. Sam was born Oct. 29, 1922 to Lee Hampton and Effie Leo Woody Koontz in Gilmer, Texas. He was a long time employee with Swift and Company. Sam served in the U.S. Army during W.W. II. He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly Koontz in 2000.Survivors: Sister, Vena Hampton and husband, Burley of Ft.
