Ellen Gwenelle Johnson

Ellen Gwenelle Johnson, 78, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at a Fort Worth hospital.

Gwenelle was born in Olney, Texas February 23, 1925 to J.J. and Mattie Eagan. She was the last survivor of nine brothers and two sisters. Gwenelle married Howard F. Johnson on July 12, 1952 in Brock, Texas. 

Gwenelle was a graduate of Weatherford College and Scarritt College for Christian workers, a member of Brock United Methodist Church, Brock Eastern Star Chapter 274, worthy matron from 1995-1996. She was a member of Sensational Senior Singers and AARP officer member. 

Gwenelle was an inspiration for reviving the Sunday school classes at the Brock United Methodist Church. She had many hours of volunteer work in the community. 

Gwenelle is survived by her loving husband of 51 years, Howard F. Johnson; son, James F. Johnson; grandson, Tyler Johnson; brothers and sister-in-law, Sonny and Anne Johnson, Rusty and Wilma Alexander; sister-in-law, Nina Howell; numerous nieces and nephews.
