Evelyn Ada Cook, 96, died peacefully Wednesday, July 20, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Graveside service: 10 a.m. Saturday in Kermit City Cemetery, Kermit, Winkler County. Evelyn Ada Cook was born June 30, 1915, in Burton, W.Va., daughter of the late John and Louisa Carpenter Horner, and moved to Wink in 1928. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother that enjoyed all sports and dancing. Evelyn lived a life filled with grace, love and beauty. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Wendell E. Cook, and her parents.
